Testimonials

Donna Mizurak, RN
“I came from a much larger home care system where you felt lost in a crowd. There was a distant kind of feeling. At Baltimore Washington Medical Center , you feel a sense of everyone working together. There is always someone to answer your questions and give you support. The pay is competitive and the on-call flexible.”

Margaret Hegman, RN
"Homecare is an extension if medical care that people receive after being hospitalized or being diagnosed with a life changing illness. It gives them an opportunity to be monitored in their own home with their own family and friends as caregivers. I like being a homecare nurse because I can provide individualized care to my patients without being disturbed. I can customize their care to fit their needs. I also like the independence I have for critical thinking, but I do not work alone. Home care is a team effort. The patient and I are supported by ancillary staff such as home health aides, therapists, a social worker, and office staff. Homecare is a wonderful opportunity for someone needing medical care at home and it is a great opportunity for nursing. Nurses go into nursing because they want to help people. At the end of the day, a homecare nurse knows they have helped someone that day."

Eloise Hoyt, OT
"I joined Baltimore Washington Home Care 7 years ago, after many years with another home health care agency. I enjoy working in home care for the opportunity to treat patients in their home environments where they will follow through on their occupational therapy programs with the assistance of their families. I enjoy working at Baltimore Washington Home Care because of the excellent communication and teamwork among therapists, nurses, aides, and the office support staff. We also have excellent support and assistance from our supervisors and administrative staff. Our newest challenge of entering all our documentation into computers has reinforced our ability to support one another and to work as a team. Even our patients are surprisingly supportive of the field staff entering data into our small computers."
